The third edition of the Oman-Philippines Strategic Council Forum will begin Sunday in the Philippine capital, Manila, bringing together senior officials, government representatives, and business leaders from both countries to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore new opportunities for strategic partnership.
The Omani delegation will be headed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman. He will be joined by Dr. Mahad bin Saeed Baawain, Minister of Labour; Munir bin Ali Al Muneeri, Deputy President for Operations at the Oman Investment Authority; and Eng. Nasser bin Saeed Al Maawali, Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines, along with representatives from several public and private sector institutions.
The forum will focus on exploring investment opportunities and expanding cooperation in key sectors including tourism, technology, logistics, and the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Organizers said the event aims to serve as a platform to enhance dialogue, develop strategic cooperation, and identify practical areas for partnership between Muscat and Manila.
The agenda is built around three main pillars.First, strengthening economic ties through exploring ways to increase trade, attract investments, and encourage joint projects in priority sectors.
Consolidating diplomatic relations by reaffirming both countries’ commitment to constructive dialogue, peace, stability, and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Advancing innovation and cooperation in emerging sectors, including technology, energy, agriculture, fisheries, logistics, and transport.
In line with efforts to institutionalize the forum within Oman’s economic diplomacy track, an official logo for the forum was launched in cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Oman Brand Office.
The logo design is inspired by an upward arrow, a universal symbol of progress, growth, and future outlook. It blends elements of Omani identity with the “Invest in Oman” approach, reflecting confidence in the Sultanate’s investment potential. It also highlights the deep ties between Oman and the Republic of the Philippines and the humanitarian message of “Live in Oman.” Together, these elements reflect the forum’s journey across its three interconnected editions.
Forum outcomes are expected to contribute to expanding economic and investment cooperation and to consolidating the strategic partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines, in support of Oman’s drive to build sustainable international partnerships.
The Oman-Philippines Strategic Council Forum is a high-level periodic dialogue established to enhance cooperation in key sectors between the two countries. It also serves as a platform for policymakers and business leaders to identify new opportunities and address issues of common interest. The event’s visual identity, developed by the Oman Brand Office, reflects the spirit of partnership and the strategic importance of this relationship
