Egyptian Ambassador to Sweden and Latvia, Naglaa Naguib, met with Gunnar Strömmer to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in judicial, legal, and police fields. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Justice headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden’s capital.
During the meeting, both sides affirmed the depth of Egyptian-Swedish relations and the two countries’ commitment to expanding the scope of joint cooperation, particularly in sectors related to justice and law enforcement.
The Egyptian ambassador praised Sweden’s leading experience in developing the justice system and digitizing judicial services, expressing Egypt’s interest in benefiting from Swedish expertise in this area. For his part, the Swedish Minister of Justice affirmed the importance of Egypt’s role in supporting regional security and stability, noting that his country views Egypt as an important strategic partner in the Middle East.
The meeting also addressed existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance joint coordination, especially in combating transnational organized crime, as well as following up on the outcomes of reciprocal visits and existing cooperation mechanisms.
The two sides concluded the meeting by affirming their intention to continue consultation and coordination in the coming period to advance bilateral relations to broader horizons and achieve the common interests of both countries.
