Egypt and Turkey Support Peace and Stability in the Region: Turkish Ambassador

Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen, stated that Turkey and Egypt consistently call for an end to wars and conflicts and adherence to dialogue and diplomacy. He noted that they enjoy lasting peace while the region witnesses dangerous escalations. and Praising the Egyptian-Turkish relations and the security and stability that Egypt enjoys under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Ambassador Şen emphasized that in the face of the wars and dangers that have recently emerged in the region, Turkey and Egypt need solidarity and cooperation more than ever.

Şen affirmed that Turkey, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will continue all forms of solidarity, cooperation, consultation, and coordination with Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in the economic, social, cultural, and political spheres.

The Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, during an Iftar banquet he hosted this evening at his residence, affirmed that Egypt and Turkey are among the largest countries in the Islamic world and share deep historical ties. He noted the significant development in relations between the two countries recently, citing the formation of the Egyptian-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and tourism.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Turkey across various sectors. The Ambassador emphasized that both Egypt and Turkey deeply value the holy month of Ramadan and are committed to the values of solidarity and unity.

He pointed out that the true strength of any nation lies not only in tanks, guns, oil, gas, and gold, but also in fostering a spirit of sharing and solidarity among communities that share a common destiny, united by faith and spirit.

He further noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan closely follows the atmosphere of Ramadan in Egypt and pays close attention to the Holy Quran. He recently hosted an Egyptian Quran reciter at an Iftar in Turkey.

Ambassador Şen stated that Egyptian society, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, experiences this cooperation and solidarity during Ramadan in every sense of the word, in the streets, homes, and institutions. He added that the entire month is not just about worship, but also a space for generous sharing in its broadest sense, noting that as a Turk, he considers himself part of Egyptian society during Ramadan.
