Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, affirmed Jordan’s condemnation of the unjustified Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom and the brotherly Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Safadi emphasized Jordan’s full solidarity with the brotherly GCC states and its support for any steps taken by these states to confront Iranian aggression and protect their citizens, security, stability, and sovereignty. He also expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by the brotherly Arab states with Jordan in confronting Iranian aggression.
This came during his intervention at the extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, held via video conference, chaired by the United Arab Emirates, at the request of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss Iranian aggression against Arab states.
Safadi stressed that the security of Arab states is indivisible, necessitating a clear stance against these attacks. He said, „Arab countries are being subjected to brutal attacks targeting their security, stability, sovereignty, citizens, residents, and infrastructure,” and stressed the need to stand united against these attacks.
Safadi also affirmed Jordan’s solidarity with brotherly Lebanon in protecting its security and stability and enforcing state sovereignty over all its territory. He emphasized the necessity of intensified and joint efforts to protect Lebanon and stop the aggression against it.
Safadi stressed the importance of continued joint action to support the brotherly Palestinian people and their right to freedom and a state on their national soil.
Safadi added that Arab national security faces challenges and threats that necessitate reassessing, amending, and developing its protection mechanisms „so that we can present a genuine stance in the face of the challenges ahead.” He proposed that the upcoming regular session of the League Council at the level of foreign ministers this month focus on this issue.
Safadi emphasized the importance of continuing to work towards consolidating security and stability and adopting dialogue as a means to resolve disputes.
The meeting adopted a resolution condemning Iranian attacks on Arab countries and affirming Arab solidarity in confronting them.
