A fire broke out today at Promenada Mall, on Calea Floreasca in Bucharest, leading to the complete evacuation of people inside the shopping complex. The flames started from a transformer located in a technical room in the basement.
The firefighters’ intervention was extensive: eight water and foam firefighting trucks, a height intervention truck, a rescue truck, the Special Rescue Detachment, and a SMURD crew were mobilized to locate the fire.
According to the intervention teams, the fire is currently under control, but the basement remains heavily flooded with smoke. Also, in the first minutes of the intervention, a massive release of smoke was recorded, visible even from the outside.
