In the second half of January 2026, the AUR party will make an official trip to Washington, at the invitation of their Republican colleagues. This visit will be the largest trip ever organized by a Romanian party of parliamentarians and MEPs to the U.S. capital. Over the course of several days, there will be exchanges of views, discussions, and debates on political, ideological, and strategic issues. The AUR delegation will be led by the party’s president, George Simion, and the party’s first vice president, Dan Dungaciu.
The messages that the AUR party will convey are fully consistent with its political agenda and the strategic project it intends to implement after coming to power.
The first general message is that AUR has openly embraced what can be defined as “Trump’s world,” namely a political vision based on the values that generated the MAGA movement and contributed to the regeneration of the Republican Party in the United States. These values include freedom, national identity, Christian identity, sovereignty and national security, and the importance of national history. In this paradigm, ethno-cultural identity plays an essential role in the formation of the individual, and political legitimacy derives exclusively from free and direct voting. The freedom of the individual to decide for themselves, without external interference or institutional constraints, is a fundamental principle.
The second major message concerns foreign and security policy: the strategic partnership with the United States of America is the central element of any foreign policy vision proposed by AUR. The relationship with Washington is the cornerstone of Romania’s position in relation to major global conflicts and other centers of power. Bucharest’s main ally and strategic reference point must be Washington, and any major decision on national security or foreign policy—including Ukraine—must be correlated and harmonized with the United States.
Thirdly, AUR firmly supports freedom of expression and opposes any form of censorship of the public space, a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly visible in the European Union. This position is directly in line with the tradition of the Romanian Revolution of 1989, whose core was the struggle for freedom, independence, and respect for national dignity and individual integrity.
Fourth, the AUR Party explicitly affirms the need for America to remain an active and engaged player in Europe, in accordance with the United States National Security Strategy, an exceptional document. AUR takes this position because American involvement is essential not only for protecting the security of the old continent, but also for protecting democratic processes in Europe. Exerting legitimate pressure on European authorities that obstruct or relativize free and democratic elections, as well as freedom of expression, must become a strategic objective for Washington. Romania must say these things loud and clear, especially since a year ago it went through a situation in which the outcome of the presidential election was not decided by the citizens’ vote, but—fraudulently—by a decision of the Constitutional Court. In a democratic state, the will of the people expressed at the ballot box must prevail, not that of politicians or those appointed politically.

Let us also remember, in the context of the visit, that in December, on the occasion of Christmas, the number two in the AUR party, Dan Dungaciu, launched the world premiere of the first volume of speeches by President Donald Trump translated into Romanian. Romania is the first country in which such an editorial project has been carried out. The volume, entitled With the People. The Historic Speeches of Donald Trump, brings together the most important speeches and statements made by the American leader during his first term (2016) and up to 2025.
Also, in December 2025, Professor Dan Dungaciu and AUR deputy Mihail Neamțu published the volume of dialogues „American lui Trump versus Lumea lui Soros” (Trump’s America versus Soros’ World), a work of sociological and ideological analysis that explores the political and cultural transformations in the United States from 2020 to the present.
Overall, these political, strategic, and cultural initiatives outline a clear direction for the AUR Party’s international positioning, based on national sovereignty, freedom, democracy, and a solid strategic partnership with the United States.
