Bulgaria Recalibrates Its Black Sea Strategy: Fewer Arms for Ukraine, More Self-Defence Within NATO

Bulgaria’s new government has stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine while pledging to raise defence spending towards 5% of GDP in line with NATO commitments. Atlas News finds that Sofia is not withdrawing from regional security but appears to be shifting its centre of gravity from direct military support for Kyiv towards rebuilding its own capabilities and participating in the trilateral Black Sea mechanisms alongside Romania and Türkiye.
